The Petal bowls by R&Y Augousti combine lustrous brown shell with sweeping brass accents in a sculptural interpretation of a flower petal. Rounded bodies taper to a delicate point, while a broad, ribbon-like band of brass with a bronze patina curves around each opening. Varying in width, the band lifts away from the bowl in places, creating open spaces that lend lightness to the generous, curved forms.
Glossy brown shell inlay covers the interior and exterior, revealing subtle tonal variations and an intricate mosaic pattern beneath its reflective surface. The contrast between dark shell and softly gleaming brass emphasizes the distinctive contours, giving the bowls a different character from every angle. Handcrafted with detailed inlay work, each piece brings the presence of a small sculpture to a tabletop or console.
